SCA Ride Guide: reporting on some of the best places to cycle in Saskatchewan.
|
Prince Albert and area offers many places to
mountain bike. The closest set of mountain bike trails is at Little Red
River Park. The City run park is only
a 5-minute drive from the city. Little Red has trails for the novice
rider or the rider that wants to get into some of the most technical single
track in Saskatchewan. The trail system is primarily based around the
cross-country ski trail system and trails have been developed around the
Little Red River valley, where you will find challenging descents and climbs
with a few boardwalks built over boggy areas. This is host to an annual Sask Cup Provincial
Mountain Bike Race and will be hosting the first ever endurance race at this
location. The Cosmopolitan Lodge in
the heart of Little Red River Park offers a great place for riders to top up
their bottles or grab a bite to eat. |

Other areas to mountain bike in the Prince Albert
area include the Prince Albert National Park (PANP) and Anglin Lake
Provincial Park. The mountain bike trails in the PANP are great trails
for the riders who don't want anything technical, but want to take in breath
taking scenery and fun and fast rolling terrain. You can even
do some longer rides to the West Side where there is a heard of
free-range buffalo. The trails in the PANP are cleared by Park Wardens
regularly. Helpful Links: |
