2010/11 Aerobic Power Training

Indoor training for cyclists, triathletes and anyone wanting to gain cycling skills and fitness.

Sessions run Saturday and Sunday, 8:30-10 AM and Tuesday from 7-8:30 PM, beginning on November 1st, 2010 and finishing on March 30th 2011.

Location is the Lakeview School Gymnasium, 3100 20th Ave.

The program is broken down into units that will develop your pedaling technique and strengthen your aerobic capacity, putting you in the best condition to begin the outdoor season.  The first unit works on power, strength and cadence, developing a strong foundation for the year.  The second unit focuses on climbing, both technique and physical abilities.  The third unit will develop your time trialing ability.  The fourth unit puts all this together to build up your aerobic power.

During the sessions we will test your anaerobic threshold so you will know exact heart rate training zones.

You will also learn riding techniques, riding/racing strategies and tips that will make your rides more comfortable and enjoyable.

The course is conducted by a NCCP Level III Cycling Coach who has worked with national caliber athletes as well as the athlete who wants to finish a ride with more energy and power.

All you need is your bike, a trainer and a heart rate monitor.

The cost for the program is only $50 for a once per week session, $100 for twice per week, or $150 if you would like to train on all 3 days.  Each person must also be a member of the SCA (Saskatchewan Cycling Association) or STAC (Saskatchewan Triathlon Association).  You will also need to be a member of any Community Association ($5 cost).
