Just a quick note about CX nationals.

Great course, lots and lots of rain had everything really muddy. Though it is not Saskatchewan mud, this stuff just made the course slick, but was rideable. Bad, bad luck for the boys. On the second lap on a fairly easy section as Andrew was overtaking another rider, the rider did not hold a straight line and Andrew used his face to cushion his fall. I think he wanted to keep his helmet intact. After shaking off the cob webs he charged back and almost made it back to the pack. A few laps latter, while sitting in great position and feeling fine, Dave gets a back tire flat. He had to run a bit to get to the wheel pit for a real slow change and that was it for the race. All too bad because the boys loved the course during the preride and felt good during the race. They both were also motivated because they had beat most of the top finishers at a Saskatoon CR a few weeks ago.

It could have easily been two podium finishes for Saskatchewan. Too bad. It's not always the best racer who wins.

We did have lots of fun on the island. While don't have any sub zero temperatures or sustained snow accumulation during the winter, it's grey and rainy most every day. The cold and sunshine seems nice in contrast.
