2010 World Masters Time Trail Challenge
The World Masters Time Trail Challenge was held once again this past August in Wadena. This was the 6th year that we have competed in this 40 Km time trial. Last year we had terrific weather and a great course, and won the challenge. This year we just had a great course and finished 3rd. Many thanks go out to the Commissaires and volunteers who helped put this race on the road.
Once again the riders who participated put out huge efforts, but the weather was uncooperative to really fast results. If we only had a domed 40 Km route. The temperature was 120 C and the wind NW 32 Kph gusting to 45 Kph. The course however is almost completely flat with new pavement.
The five riders with the best difference according to the World Masters Time Standard were:
Ken Orr
17:42
Rob Howse 15:40
Irv Trembley 12:04
Frank Matus 11:52
Cornell Kluge 11:45
Thanks to the other riders who participated and pushed the top five to achieve these results.
We are currently looking at possible dates for next year and are talking to the organizers of the event about making separate men and women divisions. We also would like to have a 20 Km time trial for those new to time trialing or those that think that 40 Km is just too far.
