The Wiserider School Program is part of the Wiserider Program established
by The Co-operators and the Saskatchewan Cycling Association (SCA) in
1991. Its purpose is to teach young people the correct way to ride their
bikes. The program entails an instructor presenting a one hour safe
cycling presentation. Within the hour, the students learn about rules
of the road, the ABC Quick Check, helmet fit and safe cycling information.
The presentations are geared toward Kindergarten to grade six children.
Each year, bicycle safety presentations are made to over 15,000 Wiserider
members at schools and community groups throughout Southern Saskatchewan.
Is your school part of The Co-operators Wiserider School Program?
Has a Wiserider instructor come to your school and talked to you about
safe cycling? If they have, then you are part of The Co-operators Wiserider
School Program. If they haven't, ask your teacher to contact the Saskatchewan
Cycling Association at (306) 780-9299 and schedule a Wiserider instructor
to come to your school. Instructors are available May 1st to June 30th.
