The East Qu'Appelle Cartel is based in Esterhazy and exists to help promote cycling for recreation, sport and fitness in the Potashville area. Though small, we have enthusiastically adopted trail building as a key component of our strategy for growth. We have some of the finest single track in Southern Saskatchewan, thanks to the Qu'Appelle Valley which runs just South of Esterhazy, and the farmers who pasture cattle there. Our group includes some successful racers in the Sask. Cup series, but also includes the weekend warrior and others who just love to ride. We are expanding the road ride offerings this year as well as trail riding.  We invite anyone passing by to drop in and give our trails a ride, you'll be glad you did.  Chances are someone will be going out for a ride and can give you a bit of a tour.   Wearing a helmet is mandatory.

April 17,  2013

Snow abounds in the middle of April in the Qu’Appelle.  Give it a couple of weeks and the lower portion of the trail system on private land is going to be available.  Please respect that we are on private land that does not belong to the club and be good stewards of the land.  Our club is hosting the provincial race in August 2013.  Register on saskcycling.ca website.  Come out and try the kids race, the 1 lap, 2 lap, 3 lap or 4 lap race depending on your age and ability.  We have cut a lot of new trail which will add some interest and winding flow to the existing singletrack.  You may get spun around  in the little twister, and rocked like a hurricane in nirvana but it will be some of the best riding you do within a 12 hour drive.  The race meal this year is headlined with pulled pork on a bun, and some excellent prizes are generously sponsored by Dutch Cycle of Regina.

To register for the race go to the saskcycling website here for the form and send $35 off to the address indicated.

If racing is not your thing, we could still use your help as a volunteer that day and show you the trail system so you can enjoy some recreational use at a later time.  Contact Tom for more info at tvlandine  at  gmail  dot com.
