July 6, 2009 On Wednesday, June 24th we went up to the Prince Albert National Park and road from the South Gate up to Namekus Lake and back. Here is a photo of the club members who enjoyed the gorgeous evening we had. The Tuesday and Wednesday evening club rides will now start at 6:30pm and will still depart from Fresh Air Experience. The Tuesday night mountain bike rides will include a 15-45min time trial loops around the CN Loop at Little Red River Park. June 9, 2009 This is a long over due update on the club website. The Pine Needle Classic has come and gone for another year...what another great event. Thank you volunteers for making this race happen, your help is very much appreciated. We had a gorgeous day at Little Red River Park, the sun was shining and it was hot. We had a fantastic spread of food for the awards banquet and it was provided by Brennon Martin and his family, and I must say, it was absolutely awesome! We look forward to the 2010 Pine Needle Classic. The club rides have been running and we have been putting up with some pretty ugly spring weather. We will continue to follow our ride schedule with a change to the road trip to Prince Albert National Park. The road ride trip to PANP will take place in the next couple weeks. The exact date will be hosted this week. For the mountain bike ride today we rode into Fish Lake on the Elk Trail in the National Park. What a great ride! Check out the pictures on the Club Photos link. We will do another mountain bike ride in the National Park in July. The club rides have been pretty hit and miss due to our up and down weather. Last night we had a great mountain bike ride at Little Red River Park, the weather was perfect and there were no bugs! Unfortunately the road rides have been put on hold due to snow and chilly temperatures. Tonight should be a go as long as it’s above zero and dry. The Rock & Road Cycling Club will be planning a clean up the Park day in June. This will most likely take place on a Saturday morning for 3 hours or so. More details will follow in the following days. Let’s help keep Little Red River Park in tip top shape. April 30, 2009 The calendar of events page has been updated.
